*Bu tense; alışkanlıklarımız, yaptığımız rutin eylemler, genel doğrular, değişmeyen olaylar
için kullanılır.Bu tense kullanılırken karşımıza genellikle ‘frequency adverbs’ sıklık zarfları
çıkar.
Frequency Adverbs(Sıklık Zarfları)
Always……….all the time (her zaman,daima,hep)
Almost always/nearly always……...almost/nearly all the time (hemen her zaman)
Very often………………….(çok sık)
Usually/generally……………(genellikle)
Often/frequently…………….(sık sık)
Sometimes/occasionally……from time to time (bazen)
Rarely/seldom…………nadiren
Hardly ever/scarcely ever/almost never…(hemen hemen hiç)
Never …….(asla,hiçbir zaman)
*Bu zarflar özne ile yüklem arasına gelir.

I usually go to bed at eleven o’clock.
Not:Hardly ever, rarely , seldom, scarcely ever,almost never gibi zarflar olumsuz cümlede
kullanılmaz; çünkü cümleye kendileri olumsuzluk katar.
We seldom go to the theatre.(Yapı olumlu ancak anlam olumsuz)
I’m hardly ever angry with people.(Yapı olumlu ancak anlam olumsuz)
She never sleeps early.(Yapı olumlu ancak anlam olumsuz)
Not:Bu zarflar cümle başına gelirse cümle devrik olur.
Never she sleeps early.
Hardly ever am I angry with people.
Seldom do we go to the theatre.

*Sıklık zarflarının yerleri bazen cümlenin olumlu olumsuz olması halinde değişmektedir.
I don’t always play tenis.
I sometimes don’t want to communicate with people. / I am sometimes not happy with people.
She occasionally doesn’t want to study alone.
*Cümlede vurguyu artırmak için (sometimes,occasionally,usually,frequently,often) başta
kullanılabilir.Bazen de sonda olabilir.
Sometimes I want to leave everything behind.
She studies alone sometimes.
My mother doesn’t watch TV very often./ quite often.
*Nesnel bilgiler için bu tense kullanılır.
The sun rises from the east. / The moon turns around the world.
*What do you do ? = What ‘s your occupation?
*What do you do at the weekends? I usually ride my motorcycle.
* I’m usually bored.
Why don’t you buy a motorcycle? (advice) Bu soru cümlesi neden sormaz, tavsiye verir.
*Uçak,tren,otobüs sefer saatlerini ifade ederken bu tense kullanılabilir.
The plane arrives İstanbul at 5 a.m
*Gazetelerdeki manşetlerde bu tense ile verilir.
Yandaki fiilleri uygun formatta kullanın (sink-know-study-run-wash-read-cost-meet)
